CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

22nd International Symposium on Electronic Art ISEA2016 Hong Kong 香港 Cultural R>evolution

May/16–22/2016

Note: We have extended the main submission deadline until January 5th!

Please visit http://www.isea2016.info for full version of this call.

Electronic media exemplifies the dual meaning of revolution: to always create new while returning to the old. In this dynamic, where multiple centers and margins compete for attention, and borders to be transgressed are shifting, paradigms and practices must be replaced, repackaged and re-appropriated to keep up with the parallel evolutions in art, creativity, culture, society, and politics.

We invite full and short papers, panel and roundtable discussions, posters, artist talks / work-in-progress presentations, proposals for artworks (including concerts and performances) and events in public space responding to the above main theme of the symposium and/or to one or more of the subthemes described below. We also invite proposals for workshops/tutorials, institutional presentations, and, proposals for OPEN SKY GALLERY ISEA2016 Hong Kong 香港 Project for ICC.

## ABOUT ISEA ##

Founded in the Netherlands in 1990, ISEA International (formerly Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts) is an international non-profit organisation fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange among culturally diverse organisations and individuals working with art, science and technology. The main activity of ISEA International is the annual International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA). In an important move for ISEA, an agreement with University of Brighton to establish an ISEA Headquarters was signed in July 2009. ISEA HQ provides an administrative, academic and creative base for ISEA and develops a fruitful partnership with a leading research University. The symposia began in 1988.
