Press Release ISEA2017

ISEA International is pleased to announce that ISEA2017 will be held in Manizales, Colombia. The successful bid was awarded to the Universidad de Caldas because of its extensive experience and tradition in conducting the International Image Festival and its continuous participation in various ISEA symposiums. The area is known for its involvement in the visual arts, music, and the sciences.

This decision acknowledges the importance of Latin America to the ISEA community. This event will offer a new and exciting experience to the attendees as well as provide a unique perspective into the development of Arts+Sciencies+Technology in Latin America.

The symposium, ISEA2017 Bio-creation and Peace, will be held in August 2017, in Manizales, a city that is part of the Colombian Coffee Cultural Landscape and was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. A process of political, economic, social, and cultural transformation is taking place in Colombia and the peace process is at the centre of this transformation. The intention of this symposium is to strengthen the alliances and cooperation between Latin America and the world.

The official language of the symposium will be English but Spanish translations will be provided.

Welcome to Colombia, we hope to see you there!
