Guidelines
for ISEA Projects
& Co-Sponsored Events

ISEA encourages
organizations to develop events which will include ISEA and the ISEA
Community.

Events organized or co-sponsored by ISEA should follow the guidelines
below.
Program focus may include one or more of following:
- exhibitions
- performances
- workshops
- panel discussions
- featured speakers
International
- All events should be international, except for those sponsored by ISEA chapters or local members of ISEA.
Events will include open participation, with demonstrated efforts to include:
- ISEA members
- students
- culturally under-represented groups
Events will be announced in appropriate newsletters and by other means
- With enough time for potential participants (presenters, artists, etc.) to indicate their interest and qualifications.
- Actual format of announcement may vary from full open call to request for letters of interest, depending on the scale of the event.
Reduced fees for members of ISEA
- Fees should be reasonable and as affordable as possible.
Provisions for Volunteers
- Enable some participants and ISEA members to offset costs of registration
- Involve students and other newcomers in a mentoring situation (when feasible)
- Include ISEA members on planning committees
Publications:
- ISEA sponsorship must be mentioned in all publications, with the ISEA logo
- Some form of publication is desirable.
- Copies of publications donated to ISEA for the ISEA archives
- Artists will be made aware (and sign a release/agreement) that their material will be included in the archives and will only be used for ISEA/Event promotion or educational/research purposes (ie a CD-ROM)
Contract or written agreement
- The responsibilities of ISEA must be carefully outlined.
- Budget must be presented to ISEA board in advance
- Financial obligations of ISEA must be clearly outlined
- .ISEA will not take on any unanticipated debts.
Insurance
- Organizers of co-sponsored events will secure an appropriate insurance policy.
A copy of the policy should be forwarded to the ISEA Headquarters Office.
Languages:
- It is desirable to include abstracts in English, but languages of sponsored events should be more flexible than ISEA Symposia
